Susan K. Jones

Susan K. Jones is a tenured, full Professor of Marketing at Ferris State University (since 1990) and the owner of Susan K. Jones and Associates (since 1980).  As a direct and interactive marketing consultant, she specializes in business-to-business, collectibles, catalogs, educational products, and financial services. 

Clients of Susan K. Jones & Associates have included eBay, International Resources, The Hamilton Collection, Enesco Corporation, GoCollect.com and Collectors' Information Bureau -- all in the collectibles field -- as well as At-Home Professions and Consumer Target Marketing/Retail Target Marketing Systems in the business-to-business realm.  She has conducted keynote, day-long and two-day marketing training programs for eBay, Yamaha Musical Instruments, Sprint/Draft Worldwide, University of Louisville, Direct Marketing Association of Detroit, Consumers Energy, Advanstar Communications, Spain’s El Instituto de Comercia Electrónico y Marketing Directo, Argentina’s Asociación de Marketing Directo e Interactivo de Argentina, and other organizations.  She is a frequent speaker at direct and interactive marketing conferences and meetings.  As a partner and associate partner with The Callahan Group, she served as faculty in one- and two-day "train the consultants" programs.

Ms. Jones has received numerous awards both as a practitioner and as an educator.  In April 2002 she was named Charles S. Downs Direct Marketer of the Year by the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing.  In February 2003 she received the Andi Emerson Award for creative direct marketing excellence from the John Caples International Awards organization.  In April 2007 she was inducted into the Medill School of Journalism Hall of Achievement at Northwestern University. In September 2008 she was presented with an Alumni Service Award by Northwestern University.  In early 2010 she was named one of “Fifty Fascinating Professors Who Tweet” by OnlineUniversities.com.

She is the author, co-author or editor of more than 30 books, most recent of which include the fourth edition of Creative Strategy in Direct and Interactive Marketing and the second edition of The IMC Handbook: Readings and Cases in Integrated Marketing Communications, both published in 2012 by RACOM Books.  Ms. Jones also authored the fifth edition of Business-to-Business Internet Marketing, published by Maximum Press and introduced in 2009. 

Ms. Jones is a member of the board of Mercantile Bank of West Michigan. Educated at Northwestern University, Ms. Jones holds a B.S.J. and an M.S.J. in advertising.  She lives in East Grand Rapids, Mich. with her husband, William T. Jones. They have two grown sons.
